RCUH New Hire Orientation

  1. Complete and sign the Certificate of Awareness and Understanding Form
  2. Email the signed form to RCUH Human Resources immediately to acknowledge completion.

New Employee Training

Completed online at your own pace

  1. Establish RCUH Training Portal Account Required for all RCUH trainings. May take 24 hours to be approved. (All field staff. 15 min)

  2. University of Hawaii IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee): Basic Course (All new field staff. Returning field staff renew if cert expires prior to September 2025. 1.5 Hour) \(^1\)

  3. University of Hawaii IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee): Marine Mammal Course (All new field staff. Returning field staff renew if cert expires prior to September 2025. 30 min) \(^1\)

  4. University of Hawaii IACUC (Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee): Wildlife Course (All new MTBAP staff, all team leads, and anyone due for renewal. 30 min) \(^1\)

  5. UH IBC - Biosafety Due within 10 days of start date. (All field staff. 40 min)\(^1\)

  6. UH IBC - Bloodborne pathogens Due within 10 days of start date. (All field staff. 25 min)\(^1\)

  7. UH IACUC Animal Biosafety Training Due within 10 days of start date. (All field staff)\(^1\)

  8. IACUC: Review seal zoonotic disease documents (All field staff. 5 min)\(^1\)

  9. IACUC: Review turtle zoonotic disease documents (All field staff. 5 min)\(^1\)

  10. RCUH Hazard Communication Training (All field staff. 20 min)\(^2\)

  11. RCUH EEO/Sexual Harassment Prevention for Employees (All new staff, returnees MUST renew annually. If it will expire during deployment, renew now. 1 hr)\(^3\)

  12. RCUH Workplace Violence Prevention for Employees (All new staff, returnees MUST renew. 1 hr)\(^3\)

  13. RCUH Hawaii State Ethics Training (All field staff. 30 min)\(^1\)

  14. Hawaii Boat Safety Course. See Boating Tab. (All boating staff, 8 hrs)

  15. NMFS IACUC Animal Care and Use Training (FEDERAL IACUC). (30 min, all new staff, returnees renew if applicable)\(^4\)

  16. DAN Adult First Aid/CPR/AED - Theory (4 hrs, all field staff)
